Cupping is an ancient technique where suction cups are placed on the skin creating suction and negative pressure. A pump is activated to remove the air. The cups can be used stationary or as moving “massage” cups. The essential point of cupping therapy is not only to withdraw stagnant, old blood within the skin, but also to remove toxin build up and acids. With massage cupping, fresh blood is drawn in the area to restore proper blood flow.
In only a few minutes blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place. Possible minor weal or “cup kisses” can appear after the treatment, which generally disappear within 48 hours.
30 minutes – $40 | 60 minutes – $70
Benefits of Cupping:
- Loosening muscle spasms
- Lifting connective tissue
- Draining fluids and toxins
- Activating the lymphatic system
- Opening the ‘Meridians’ of the body
This “pressure therapy” involves applying focused pressure to certain known “reflex” points located in the foot, which correspond to certain other areas in the body. Some of the recognized benefits from receiving a reflexology treatment include increased circulation, relaxation, and release of tension.
